Foundation firms still email Excel BoQs and re‑measure on every model revision. Leader firms bind takeoff, BOQ and validation into one continuous workflow with full audit trail. Most firms land in Developing or Established — and that's where the biggest gains live.

When unit rates change (material price hike, new subbie quote, regional shift) — how do those updates propagate to in-flight projects?
Estimating
Q3
When you receive a 3D model (Revit, IFC, ArchiCAD, Allplan, Tekla) — how do quantities get from the model into the BOQ?

Your maturity band

Recommended next steps

Three highest-leverage moves for a firm in your band, ordered by typical ROI.

About the bands. The five bands are a self-assessment rubric, not a population benchmark — we don't publish industry-wide percentages because we don't have honest data to back them. The score reflects only what you answered today; the value is in the per-dimension breakdown, not the label.

Time to take it. ~5 minutes for the 11 questions, ~10 minutes if you read the rationale on each option. Re-take it every 6 months — the per-dimension deltas are usually more interesting than the band itself.

What to do next. Pick the two lowest dimensions from the breakdown and treat them as next quarter's focus. Most firms move one band on a single dimension within 12–18 months when they pick a concrete initiative (e.g. "switch BOQ from Excel to a structured tool" rather than "improve digital maturity").
